You've certainly read about the weight-to-power ratio in some exotic car review. But what exactly does it measure? The weight-to-power ratio tells you how many pounds of vehicle each individual horsepower has to haul. (Alternately, the power-to-weight ratio tells you how many horsepower are allocated for each pound of car.)
Here are the five best -- and five worst -- weight-to-power ratios. Be prepared for a few surprises.
6. Lotus Elise
Weight: 1931 lbs
Horsepower: 134 hp
W/P Ratio: 14.41 lbs/hp
[This seems insane -- Lotus has the worst W/P ratio? Please, someone, correct me.]
9. Maybach 62
Weight: 6330 lbs
Horsepower: 543 hp
W/P Ratio: 11.66 lbs/hp
