The Mercedes-Benz E550 cabriolet was designed for all-weather top-down motoring. Blizzards and thunderstorms will require the top to come back up, which it can do at speeds up to 25 mph. Right at the very top edge of the windshield is the AIRCAP, which directs the flow of air up and over the windshield when the top is down. This keeps the wind from mussing your hair or blowing off your ballcap, not to mention making it possible to talk to the person in the passenger seat without screaming. A screen between the rear headrests further aids in a quiet al fresco cabin.
The controls for the top-down features are in the center console; just flip up the leather-covered lid. There's a button for the AIRCAP, a lever for the top, and a toggle for putting all four windows up or down at once with a single flick of a finger.
But interior comfort doesn't end there in the E550. Click "Next" to learn about the AIRSCARF.
