Challenge Rally Cinque 2009
Five states in three days- -think your exotic car can handle it?

By Kristen Hall-Geisler, About.com

Quick--guess how to say "five" in Italian. If you guessed "cinque," you're right. That's how many states the exotic and vintage cars on the Challenge Rally Cinque will visit in three days, June 17-19, 2009.

Roads for this driver-and-navigator-tailored event will take participants through the low, rolling mountain passes of the Eastern U.S.: the Alleghenies, the Appalachians, the Catskills, and the Poconos. The scenic route with plenty of twisties cuts through New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and dips into Pennsylvania. The rally's finish line coincides with Le Belle Macchina d'Italia at Skytop Lodge in the Poconos, one of the country's largest Italian-car events.

This is also luxury resort country, and the three nights of accommodations included in the standard $4,250 registration price reflect that. Registration also includes gourmet meals, staff, tech crew, and mementos of the event. Like most events, you can get a break on the price if you register early.

    In brief:
  • What: Challenge Rally Cinque 2009
  • When: June 17-19
  • Where: mostly in New York state
  • Cost: $4,250
