Each summer since 2001, the Ferrari Club of America, New England Region, has held its Concorso event in Hartfort, Connecticut. Participants go beyond kicking tires and polishing paint, though, to drive 40 ailing children from the Connecticut Children's Medical Center to the state capital in new and vintage Italian sports cars.
The 2009 Concorso benefited three charities: a new cardiovascular operating suite at Children's Medical Center; The Village, which works to stop violence against and around children; and Autism Speaks, which services the autistic community.
Of course, in addition to the great charity works, there were great cars. Check them out below. Many thanks to Keith Griffin, the About.com Guide to Used Cars, who attended the Concorso and took these pictures.
