Guide Review - Motormouse Review
The Motormouse is a vaguely Porsche-shaped wireless optical computer mouse -- but not so Porsche-shaped to imply any endorsement of the Motormouse by the German sportscar maker. The model I received for review (at no cost to myself) was a deep, shiny, sporty red, and it came with two AA batteries, a track pad, and a bag for bringing it along to the coffee shop.
There's a black rubber click wheel embedded in the hood of the Motormouse, where a blower might go, if you were gong to add a blower to a Porsche Panamera. (That's the model I think it looks the most like; your opinion may differ.) It's got right and left buttons just like a regular mouse, and its optical sensor tracks pretty smoothly.
I've been using the Motormouse for a few days as my regular mouse, and it's been perfectly fine for my word processing, spreadsheeting, and Flash gaming needs. If I were a hard-core computer gamer, though, and needed precision and speed from my mouse, the Motormouse might not do so great.
Installation was so simple the word "installation" seems complicated. There's a tiny USB wireless adapter that plugs into your computer. The lights on the car blink a couple times, and voila. The Motormouse is ready to go. It takes longer to pry open the rear hatch and insert the batteries than it does to fire the thing up and start using it.
