Another New Lamborghini Gallardo Edition
Monday July 6, 2009
Longtime Lambo test driver Valentino Balboni is being honored for more than 40 years with the Sant'Agata supercar company with the limited-edition Lamborghini Gallardo 550-2 Valentino Balboni. Following the marque's recent naming convention, the 550 stands for horsepower, and the 2 for the number of wheels receiving power -- in this case, the rear two.
Balboni was hired as a test driver in 1967 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, and his work testing Lamborghinis over the years influenced the final designs of cars from the curvy Miura of the Swinging Sixties to the hard-edged Gallardo and Murcielago of the New Millenium.
The car named for the bull's favorite rider will be limited to 250 examples and set you back $219,800.
