Pop-Art Bentley on Display This Summer
Friday July 3, 2009
Brazilian-born artist Romero Britto has worked his pop-art magic on a Bentley Continental GT as part of his "Come to My World" exhibition in Berlin, July 10 through September 6.
No photographs of the Continental-as-canvas were available, but the Bentley press release describes it thusly: "a large, happy flower, little stars, squiggles and signs dance on the elegant hood and colourful, comic-like figures adorn the doors." After the exhibit, the car will be auctioned off to benefit charity.
Britto apparently has a bit of a history with Bentley, not all of it so flattering. In March 2009, the artist was arrested for driving drunk in his 2001 Bentley in Miami Beach. He also has a history of painting cars -- he did an Audi RS4 for Art Chicago in 2007.
