New Fisker Model at Detroit Auto Show

Thursday January 1, 2009

While other exotic automakers are pulling out of the North American International Auto Show in January (Ferrari, I'm looking at you), Fisker, builder of exotic alternative-fuel autos, seems glad to step into the void. The company has announced that it will be bringing its second model, the Karma S concept, to Detroit.

Few details have been released so far, but we do know that the Karma S will use the same powertrain as the Karma, which gets 50 miles to a charge. The batteries are cutting-edge lithium ion, and the two electric motors will produce up to 300 kW, the equivalent of 403 hp.

I'll be at the Detroit show snapping pics and blogging like crazy, so check back January 12 for more on the new Fisker Karma S.
